Mary's Gone Crackers

Behind most of the homespun gluten-free food businesses, there's a story. And Mary's Gone Crackers is no exception.

The woman behind the name, Mary, was diagnosed with gluten intolerance in 1994, as was her son. Once she eliminated wheat and other glutenous foods from her diet, the symptoms disappeared. And so did her edible options at restaurants and social gatherings. A longtime baker and clearly a problem-solver, too, Mary got busy in her kitchen. After experimenting with assorted gluten-free flours in varying ratios, her crispy crackers were eventually born.

Personally, I love these crackers. I think they have a great, nutty flavor.

They're organic and that appeals to me, too. They are terrific for dipping into hummus (a middle-eastern chick pea spread) or other spreads because they don't break or crumble. Layer them with cheese and I dare you to eat just one! If you are looking for a nutritious, gluten-free cracker then

Mary's Gone Crackers may be just the answer. If, however, you are strictly a 'white flour' cracker lover and hankering for a gluten-free alternative to the boxes of Ritz you used to know and love, then these are probably not the cracker choice for you.

A significant feature of Mary's Gone Crackers is that they don't get soggy and soft, even when exposed to humidity. Read her story and you'll learn that she tested them by taking a batch on vacation to the Caribbean.

Mary's Gone Crackers are now available in five flavors: Original, Black Pepper, Herb, Onion, and Caraway. You can purchase them by the single box online through their website or at supermarkets and health food stores nationwide. Click here to learn more or to order online.
