Miserable since birth, I've been an allergy sufferer and asthmatic for most of my life, a gift I've bestowed upon my daughter. Sara suffered terrible rashes as soon as she started eating solid food. We eliminated countless suspect foods, and it wasn't until she started scratching like mad while baking cookies that we discovered a gluten allergy.
I write from real-world experience as a parent who is raising my allergic children right now, not in the hazy, golden past when camp cooks were understanding and doctors had time to listen.
I hope you'll forgive my terse, no-nonsense approach. I'm a busy dad with a busy wife, and we just don't consider raising our children gluten free as a "journey".
I want resources that are succinct and well researched. I want reviews without fluff. I want guidelines without an endless stream of qualifications (Pasta dishes may contain wheat, soy, nuts, barley, dust, insect parts, chicken thighs, milkweed, and carbon-based life forms). We live in the real world, we figure there's a chance of that.
I hope you'll find all of that within these pages, and if you don't, please call me out on it.
